Preparation of materials, space and working conditions:
- Only clean and healthy wood, free of decay or insect damage, must be used.
- For wood that will be exposed to all weather conditions outdoors, Silvalazur is most effective as a systemic protection in combination with Silvanolin® primary wood preservative, and also works well on thermally modified Silvapro® wood.
- In indoor areas, a systemic application with a prior application of Silvanol primary wood preservative is possible (if insect protection is desired), but it can also be used as a stand-alone decorative coating.
- When applying Silvalazur, it is important that the wood elements or structures are mechanically finished, clean and adequately dry (wood moisture content below 15%).
- The most common application processes for Silvalazur are coating with a brush and spraying (we do not normally use a dipping or moulding processes for applying wood paints, and application of wood paints with a roller is also less suitable as there is a possibility of leaving traces of the roller in the form of foam).
- Silvalazur wood paints are used for surface and decorative protection of wooden surfaces of windows, doors, garden and balcony railings, pergolas, garden sets, beehives, children’s playground structures, etc.
- The specified application rate of Silvalazur is 200-250 g/m2 of the wooden surface, which is usually achieved by two or three generous applications of the paint with a brush or spraying.
- When using Silvalazur, no special protective equipment is required as the product is non-toxic, however, use of gloves is recommended to avoid .
Important:
- Never dilute Silvalazur water-based stains with water or mix with other substances and preparations for protecting or staining wood, as this may significantly reduce its effectiveness and protective functionality.
- The recommended working and drying temperature for coated wood is between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius.
- We advise against staining in fog or in strong scorching sun (to avoid reducing the adhesion quality of the stain or drying too quickly) and therefore, at temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius, we suggest that the application and drying of coated wood elements should be carried out in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
- Wash tools with water and detergent after work is finished.
- Wood that has been previously coated with Silvanolin® or Silvanol wood preservative should be well dried before applying Silvalazur (the moisture content of the wood should not be more than 15% before the wood stain is applied).
- Silvalazur should be stored in its tightly sealed original packaging.
